Bearing number decoder
Type a bearing number such as 6205-2RS C3 and this tool splits it into type, series, bore and suffixes, with each part explained in plain words. It shows the bore in millimetres, adds standard outside diameter and width for common deep groove sizes, and flags anything it does not recognise instead of guessing.

Suffix meanings vary by manufacturer. Keep the full marking when you enquire, and we will confirm against current data.
How it works
The decoder applies the basic ISO designation pattern described in our guide: the first digits give the bearing type and dimension series, and the last two digits give the bore code. Codes 00 to 03 mean 10, 12, 15 and 17 mm, and from 04 upward the code times 5 gives the bore in mm. A slash code such as 62/22 gives the bore directly.
Suffixes such as ZZ, 2RS, C3, K and NR are matched against a short list of common meanings and described in general terms, because suffix conventions vary by manufacturer. Outside diameter and width are shown only for deep groove ball bearings in the 60, 62 and 63 series with bores from 10 to 60 mm. Nothing leaves your browser.
Frequently asked questions
What happens when the decoder does not recognise part of a number?
That segment is marked "Not recognised, include it in your enquiry" and is never guessed. Send the full marking to us on WhatsApp and we will check it against the manufacturer data before quoting.
Does it show outside diameter and width for every bearing?
No. It shows them only for deep groove ball bearings in the 60, 62 and 63 series with bore codes 00 to 12 (10 to 60 mm), where the ISO boundary dimensions are standard. For every other bearing it shows the bore and leaves the remaining dimensions to be confirmed.
Does the decoded meaning depend on the bearing brand?
Type, series and bore follow an ISO pattern that many makers share. Suffix meanings can differ between manufacturers, so the descriptions are generic. Always confirm a substitute against the full marking and current technical data.
